Don’t Have to be a Guru to Get it Right
September 9, 2009 by Herschyf16
Too often Internet Marketing newbies unintentionally sabotage themselves by making things more complex than they really are. With some understanding, the the right game plan and some action almost ALWAYS follows results. So why is it that newbies tend to fall off the tracks? I’m going to get to that later. For now, I wanted to introduce the guy I’ve been marketing to the entire time — literally — and is someone you’ll want to consider modeling.
As an instructor, one of the biggest joys is seeing a student flourish. Not only is it awesome to see someone’s confidence and lifestyle change for the better, but (selfishly, I guess) it feels good knowing that I was able to connect the dots and make sense of things for someone. And when I know that the person I’m working with is genuinely working hard, has a the right game and is taking action, it’s great to see a good guy succeed.
The student I’m talking about is Gus Cawley. Gus had been a Quick Video Marketing client and had also gone through our intensive Wingman Webinar series. I recently had the absolute pleasure of meeting with him in person at a seminar, and I got a chance to hear how he had taken what he’d learned and just stepped out and made things happen for himself.
Turns out that it couldn’t have happened to a nicer guy! In fact, as a result of us meeting, I’m happy to be working with him to better develop his funnel and improve his business. I thought he was a fascinating story of how you have a choice to make this stuff complex…or, like Gus, pretty straightforward.
I hope you find this interview inspiring…

A refreshing change to watch a genuine success story from someone who has actually benefited from the information.Video is certainly the way forward to getting your message across.
Though your Video with Gus was very well put together. I learn alot from Gus. See I’m trying to get myself on the internet to make a living and help people along the way. I lost my JOB about a month ago See I’m to old for a lot of companies to hire me and too young to collect Social Security. So Gus hit home to alot of questions I had.
Thanks Jeff…
PS> love to see more information like this for people like me.
Yes I wish I could afford your course maybe in the near future.
Gus, congrats with what you’ve done! For me this is a bit of a wake up call. Unlike Gus, I’ve been guilty of going through courses and not applying what I’ve learned (i.e. Quick Video Marketing and the awesome Wingman Webinar series). I just seem to stall and over complicate things for myself.
Jeff – thanks for sharing this here. I always appreciate the value and guidance you provide. Now it’s time for me (too) to start taking the steps!
I am in total agreement with the power and value to website owners! Video is a great weapon in the conversion and recruitment process!

Thanks, Jeff, for sharing Gus’ success!
No doubt, video personalizes the “story.” More importantly, video marketing gives all of us an opportunity to monetize…if we discover HOW.
Gus mentioned something else very important. We need to go to people who are doing (or who have done) what we want to do. Compress the learning curve that causes many people to give up in disgust.
I like your approach, Jeff. You’re very approachable and caring.

Hi Hershey!
Loved the dual video interview. Thank you… our charity could use that technology. Did you use Skype and Camtasia to achieve your task, or something else?
Good work from an old F-86D guy (1953),
Dan (now age 78, and still kickin’ butt on the internet).

Hi Jeff,
that is a very inspiring interview. Thankfully, with the help of your report we don’t have to work the starting point out for ourselves.
I have your report and look forward to buying your course. Just a brief question: as all this is now over a year old, are you planning to release an update any time soon?
